Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act of 1938

Homeopathic medicines are recognized and regulated as official medicine under the Food, Drug & Cosmetic Act. Unlike dietary supplements, homeopathic medicines are subject to regulatory processes that resemble those that apply to allopathic medications. Under the FDCA, homeopathic medicines are required to meet well-defined conditions outlined in the Compliance Policy Guide (CPG) created by the FDA.

U.S. Food and Drug Association

The FDA regulates homeopathic medicines according to monographs — detailed, empirical studies — published in the drug reference handbook which is governed by the Homeopathic Pharmacopoeia Convention of the United States (HPCUS). The Food and Drug Association's criteria for inclusion in the HPUS require that a homeopathic drug product be determined by HPCUS to be safe and effective and prepared according to HPUS specifications.

Historical Remedies is in full compliance with FDA requirements. It's products contain all HPUS compliant active ingredients and are properly labeled for over-the-counter use.
